Hydrosols have been around for centuries but are now finding their place in modern aromatic plant medicine. Like all things suddenly mainstream and fashionable, you’ll find the exquisite and the adulterated fakes.
Liz will share an overview of what constitutes a high-quality, artisanal hydrosol, how hydrosols are created, and how their uses are different than, but complementary to, essential oils. She’ll explain why hydrosols are an important tool in an Aromatherapist’s healing arsenal.

Liz brings more than 30 years of experience and education to her work as a Clinical Aromatherapist, Educator, and Hydrosol Therapist. She has been using hydrosols since the 1990s and has been a “back porch” distiller since 2013. Liz teaches with warmth, humor, and lots of stories!
She has served as the Pennsylvania Regional Director for the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA) since 2000 and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA). Liz has been teaching since 1997 and founded the Aromatic Wisdom Institute in 2010.
