Aromatherapy Wellness with TCM
Moving to China in December of 2019 provided me with many challenges and also opportunities. And with the pandemic outbreak, I took this moment to research and develop new ways of applying my aromatherapy experience and knowledge into new fields of creativity and learning.
Aromatherapy with Traditional Chinese Medicine: The Chinese have a long history of herbal medicine which is known around the world for its famed use of magical herbal elixirs. Moving to China, the challenge of combining the wonders of Aromatherapy with TCM is an area that I just could not resist investigating. Learning how to “blend” essential oils with TCM, how to incorporate aromatherapy into this ancient wellness practise for healing the mind and body.
For the past twenty years I successfully established a career in the film and television industries, both in the UK and Australia. I have always enjoyed working with people and in 2013, following a short introduction course in Massage Therapy at Neals Yard School in Covent Garden, London, I made the decision to change profession and pursue a career in the health and wellness industry as a Massage Therapist and Aromatherapist. Focussing on providing therapeutic treatments to help people with their overall health and wellbeing. I went onto successfully complete the formal assessments of the Neal’s Yard Diploma in Aromatherapy and Clinical Sciences (London, UK) and fully qualified as an Aromatherapist.
Upon completion of my studies I worked at a Wellness clinic on the Isle of Wight in the UK as in-house Clinical Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist. I was asked back to work with Neals Yard in the role of Massage Teacher Assistant on the Diploma and other short courses which the school offered.
In December of 2019 I relocated to live in Shanghai where I am currently based and where I teach Aromatherapy and Yoga workshops at various Aromatherapy schools and Yoga Studios. I have diversified my aromatherapy work and delved into the world of Olfactory Art. I was asked to participated with a group of visual artists at an exhibition in Shanghai where I created different Olfactory Art Installations (aromas) for the exhibition.
I was the IFPA (International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists) Chair Person in 2020.
I host the IFPA Livestream Podcast series on the IFPA Instagram, Facebook and YouTube Channel
